Why Choose Megan as your consultant?

With over 16 years of experience in Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) programs, Megan Strauss is a dedicated advocate for AmeriCorps (AC) and community service initiatives. A two-term AmeriCorps alumna, Megan has extensively worked with VISTA programs and the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). In 2020, she founded and became the Executive Director of Alpine Achievers Initiative (AAI), a Colorado AC program funded at the competitive/national level.

Megan's journey with AmeriCorps is deeply personal; she met her husband while serving and believes wholeheartedly in the transformative impact of AC programs on both communities and members. Her passion for service led her to enter consulting, where she focuses on developing high-impact programs that create positive experiences for service-oriented individuals while advancing the missions of socially-driven organizations.

Throughout her career, Megan has consulted with multiple AC programs and nonprofits, striving to develop financially sustainable, beneficial programs for partners and meaningful experiences for AC members. As the leader of AAI, she has overseen more than 384 AC members, successfully navigating technical AmeriCorps situations and member challenges. Notably, AAI boasts a 96% partner retention rate among 36 partners in 9 rural Colorado counties.

Megan's extensive knowledge of CNCS compliance, expectations, and best practices, combined with her commitment to AC programs, enables her to help other organizations develop effective AC models that best serve their communities and members.
